The Compelling Career of Cassi Chandler: From Journalist to Spy to CEO

Cassi Chandler is today best known as the CEO and Managing Partner of Vigeo Alliance, an organization that empowers businesses to nurture emerging leaders, retain diverse talent, and build a culture of leadership in an inclusive atmosphere. But the career path that got her there was a winding and exciting road, beginning from when she earned her B.A. in journalism. Her plan was to be a reporter and then go to law school. At first, everything went according to plan. Immediately after graduation, she worked as an anchorperson and television reporter and then went to Loyola Law School with the intention of practicing law right after that. While she was at law school, she also worked at a TV station part-time. One day, just minutes before going live, a bank robber who had killed a teller called her station to give himself up in front of the cameras. Cassi called the FBI to report it. As she was being prepped for trial to provide her testimony, she had the opportunity to interact with agents for the first time––and decided that she would become an agent herself upon graduation. In the short video below, you can hear for yourself about Cassi’s journey to becoming an FBI special agent, and what it was like being on the job while raising a family:
Cassi went on to work at the FBI for 23 years, where she managed, directed, and led criminal, terrorism, and cybercrimes investigations and foreign intelligence activities. She led the redesign of the Bureau’s healthcare fraud and criminal intelligence programs. Following her retirement from the FBI, Cassi joined Bank of America in January 2008. She served as the bank’s Senior Global Investigative Services Executive, developing a prevention-focused global fraud investigations program that detected and prevented fraud, cybercrimes, and other emerging security risks with a focus on loss prevention and value return to the business. She also built and directed an enterprise team to collect and analyze internal and external intelligence to predict regulatory, reputational, and financial risks, while enhancing the customer experience. Cassi ultimately retired as Senior Vice President for Business Operations at Bank of America, where she was responsible for building an integrated framework to identify, evaluate and assess emerging risks and the operational effectiveness of enterprise coverage areas. In addition to her roles as a risk executive, Cassi led the bank’s compliance relationship with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). As Enterprise Regulator Relations and Engagement Executive with the CFPB, she was responsible for building and maintaining relations with regulators, supporting the needs of regulators, and managing CFPB interactions across the enterprise.

"Great Service and Product"

I love the fact that I can send or request documents from a customer and it is easy to get the documents back in a secured site via text message. Our company switched from Docusign to Lightico, as Lightico is easier and more convenient than Docusign, as the customer can choose between receiving a text message or an email.
